PINKHAM NOTCH — It's spring — according to the calendar, at least. But as Wednesday's Mount Washington Avalanche Advisory warned visitors to Tuckerman and Huntington Ravines, "It is not springtime in the mountains yet."

With warmer weather expected to arrive this weekend, skiers and snowboarders will soon head to Tuckerman Ravine to resume the traditional rite of spring skiing that dates back more than 80 years.
