CONWAY — The days are numbered for the old silver maple at the Smith-Eastman Landing on Meeting House Road behind the Conway Police Station.

At their Aug. 18 meeting, Conway selectmen voted 5-0 to have the tree taken down as a safety precaution, with chair Mary Carey Seavey, vice chair Carl Thibodeau, John Colbath, Ryan Shepard and Steve Porter all in favor.
