CONWAY — Suspended from ropes and stationed along both banks of the river, workers with the state Department of Environmental Services and members of the Swiftwater Rescue Team installed a streamflow station with a new water gauge that will provide near real-time streamflow data in the Swift River along the Kancamagus Highway and Passaconaway Road, about a half-mile downstream of Hobbes Brook, on Nov. 19.
The pipe containing the gauge was secured to a cliff face on the Kanc side of the river. Assisting the team were staff from the state’s Watershed Management Bureau’s Instream Flow Program.
