FRANCONIA — Kevin Devine, the recently appointed manager of the Mt. Washington State Park, was introduced on Friday to members of the Mount Washington Commission by Parks and Recreation Director Phil Bryce at a meeting held in the rustic Franconia Notch State Park headquarters.

A New Hampshire native, Devine now serves as the day-to-day manager of the Deer Mountain Campground in Pittsburg. He will assume his new duties atop the summit on Oct. 27, and he plans to move to the Androscoggin Valley. Over the last 20 years he has worked in both outdoor retail and wholesale, including stints at Eastern Mountain Sports and Orvis of Vermont. “It’s been a goal of mine to live in the mountains,” explained Devine, adding he is a telemark skier. “I greatly look forward to working with the state park’s many partners.”
