CONWAY — With medical suppliers struggling to keep up with the demand for masks in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, local businesses and community organizations — including Gail’s Material Girls sewing club, Visiting Nurse, Home Care and Hospice volunteers and Ragged Mountain Equipment of Intervale — are jumping in to fill the void.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said Tuesday that the White House coronavirus task force is seriously considering guidance that Americans wear masks to help thwart the rapid spread of COVID-19.
