CONCORD — A House bill filed by Conway’s state representatives that would allow New Hampshire towns to charge a fee on lodging was killed in the House by a vote of 195-171.

House Bill 1254 — “An Act relative to an optional local public safety assessment on certain room occupancies” — was sponsored by state Reps. Tom Buco, David Paige and Steve Woodcock, all Democrats.
