CONWAY — The last storm of the year — Winter Storm Gage — was also the biggest of the winter so far in the Mount Washington Valley. The storm dumped roughly a foot on the area and brought wide smiles to faces at cross-country touring centers, some which had yet to open due to a snow drought.

Motorists handled the storm with few problems. “We didn’t have one single issue,” Conway Police Lt. Chris Mattei said Tuesday morning despite approximately 24 hours of snowflakes falling on the area.
