CONWAY — Selectmen on Tuesday unanimously voted to send a letter to lawmakers in support of overriding Gov. Chris Sununu’s veto of a Senate bill that would have kept the state’s biomass plants from closing.

SB 365 would provide a three-year subsidy to six biomass plants. One, Pinetree Power, is in Tamworth. It provides 25 jobs and tax revenue to the town and state. Without an override on Sept. 13, Pinetree and the other plants will be shuttered. SB 365 was sponsored by Sen. Jeb Bradley (R-Wolfeboro).
