CONWAY — Selectmen on Tuesday took several steps to make it easier for people to hold special events in town, including removing a $25 fee for signage and removing a requirement that an advertising permit could only be granted if the event is expected to draw 1,000 people.
At a meeting last November, Selectman and businessman Carl Thibodeau raised the question of what sort of event would require a permit. At the time Thibodeau said that he had to get a permit to allow a sidewalk sale and a food truck to park at Conway Market Place, which he owns. Subsequently, town staff began looking into streamlining the permit process.
