WOLFEBORO  — A 61-year-old Alton man was killed and a woman from Effingham was injured New Year's Eve morning in a two-vehicle crash on Route 28 near the Wentworth Inn, police said in a press release shared to Facebook post.

Wolfeboro police and fire crews were called to the scene at about 7:30 a.m. after a northbound 1996 Buick Regal crossed the center line and collided with a Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling in the opposite direction, authorities said.
