CONWAY — Family, friends and veterans gathered at the American Legion Post 46 ballfield last Thursday to dedicate a plaque and flagpole to late Post 46 member and Kennett High School earth science teacher John Hancock (1941-2021).
The plaque bears a picture of Hancock wearing a wide-brimmed hat and a quote from Gen. George S. Patton Jr., which reads: “It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.”
