CONWAY — A coach knows their team. Ella Chandler, coach of the Kennett High field hockey team, knew she had the makings of a talented squad, but also knew that with a young group and after losing a host of seniors to graduation, it would take time for the Eagles to gel.

The hometown flock has found its rhythm and, a month into the season, is playing its best field hockey. KHS went 2-0-1 last week, tying Oyster River 1-1 at Centola Field on Sept. 14; beating Milford 2-0 at home on Thursday; and then traveling to Concord on Friday to beat Pembroke Academy 6-0.
