JACKSON — Disaster was averted at the Christmas Farm Inn and Spa this weekend when the fire department kept a small fire from spreading and engulfing the main building.

Front desk manager Debbie Deschenes called the fire department around 2 p.m. on Sunday after she noticed smoke on a section of roof that workers had just finished working on.
