UPDATE (1/30/2026 at 2:50 p.m. ET): Journalist Don Lemon has been charged with federal civil rights crimes tied to an anti-ICE protest in Minnesota, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security said on Friday, January 30.

Lemon was arrested on Thursday, January 29, in Los Angeles by federal agents, according to his attorney, Abbe Lowell. The former CNN anchor was charged with conspiracy and interfering with the First Amendment rights of churchgoers during an anti-ICE protest at the Cities Church in St. Paul on January 18, per The Associated Press. A U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement official is a pastor at the church.
