They may be calling it an open house, but it's more like a 'stay well' day. Visitors to the Winnipesaukee Wellness Center open house, Saturday, November 6 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., get the opportunity to tour the facility, meet the staff, see demonstrations of a wide variety of exercise equipment, learn about the wellness program, and have a chance to win several door prizes.Registered nurses are on site that day providing visitors with free medical screenings for cholesterol, HDL, glucose, and blood pressure. Lakes Region General Hospital Dietitian Mary Lavanway is providing individual consultations on the healthiest diet specific to each person. There are also representatives from community service organizations including VNA of Southern Carroll County, Moultonboro and Meredith VNA, and Community Caregivers covering Moultonboro, Center Harbor, and Meredith.The Winnipesaukee Wellness Center is dedicated to the maintenance and improvement of the health and well-being of residents of the northern Lakes Region area. The Wellness Center offers an ongoing medically supervised exercise program for people of all ages with a variety of medical challenges as well as those who have been inactive and need an exercise program that includes supervision, group motivation, and encouragement.The Winnipesaukee Wellness Center is located at 80 Bean Road on the Moultonboro-Center Harbor line just one minute from the traffic light on route 25 in Center Harbor.
