LAST SATURDAY’S RAIN showers helped everyone’s gardens, along with river depths for tubing and kayaking on the Saco River, which was good news, but it certainly didn’t help all of the local events that were going on that day — and trust me, there were plenty!

The downpour impacted attendance at the 120th Freedom Old Home Parade Saturday morning, but it was still pretty spirited, celebrating this year’s theme of “Preserving Freedom’s Legacy” (and given the state of things, don’t we need more of that these days — but, I digress).
