CONWAY — Whoever thought weather stories were boring haven’t experienced a cold and then snowy weekend like we’re having here in the White Mountains. It will be brutally cold today, and then snow will arrive Sunday into Monday.

Half of the rest of the country is bracing for a massive winter storm that is expected to bring a huge swath of ice and snow stretching from the Texas Panhandle to eastern Virginia and North Carolina on Saturday. By Sunday, ice storms continue in the Carolinas and Mid-Atlantic as heavy snow impacts the Midwest, Northeast and New England, expected to be “catastrophic” in the Southeast.
