MID-NOVEMBER, AND the ski season is, unbelievably, well underway, with Bretton Woods having opened Wednesday, Wildcat on Friday and Cranmore today, with the latter opening one day ahead of last year’s record of Nov. 17. (Tubing at Cranmore will open Nov. 29, Thanksgiving Weekend.)

Bretton Woods had 44.8 acres (or five trails, offering 3 miles) open as of Thursday. Wildcat has top-to-bottom skiing on the Lynx Trail, offering 2,100 feet of vertical! Cranmore will be open for the weekend, with skiing on the South Slope to start off.
