Towns are required to perambulate their town boundaries every seven years. Perambulations consist of walking the boundaries of the town, describing town boundaries, making survey measurements between the markers, and blazing and painting the lines if appropriate. The Cook Memorial Library is hosting the first “Banntag,” a Swiss tradition that invites community members to walk their town’s boundaries. Paul King, a surveyor who did the perambulation in 2009, will coordinate the event. Everyone is welcome.
