Parades of cuteness boarded school buses on Tuesday in driveways all over town. For Kindergartners especially — many dressed in new clothing for the occasion — this was an important milestone, watched with both joy and tears by parents. Summer is officially over.

Everyone who has loved ones interred in Tamworth cemeteries appreciates the efforts given to make these locations peaceful and well cared for. The cemetery trustees will be holding a work morning at the Chocorua Cemetery to right gravestones and set them on good foundations of sand on Saturday, Sept. 9, from 9 a.m. to noon. Shovels, rakes, pry bars, wheel barrels, small tarps, trowels are all useful. Some will be provided. Cemetery Trustee Mark Albee says ”We always get a lot done in a short period of time and it is very satisfying work. Come lend a hand.” For more information, call Albee at (603) 323-7969.
