Yummy, gooey, energizing, mood-satisfying chocolate. It is the theme for the Conway Public Library’s next film festival. If you would like some free entertainment with delectable local treats to go with it, these Monday evenings should be on your agenda. All movie showings will take place on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in September in the Ham Room of the library. Eat your dinner first but leave room for dessert.

Sept. 11 brings “Like Water for Chocolate.” Based on the best-selling book, this tale of forbidden love has Tita, the family cook, preparing exotic foods for Pedro in order to seduce him. Tita soon discovers the ability to manipulate the emotions of others with her culinary brilliance. Will Tita and Pedro find a way to fulfill their desires for each other through Tita’s plan to change the attitudes of her family with her creative spice concoctions?
