The Freedom Firefighters Association will be hosting the third annual Ice Fishing Derby on Loon Lake in Freedom on Saturday, Jan. 19. Registration begins at 6 a.m. at the Loon Lake boat launch and fishing begins at 7 a.m. Registration fee is $10 with those under age 16 free. N.H. Fish and Game rules apply.

All fishing prizes are based on the largest fish by weight. Adult first place $200 and five free bob house raffle tickets. Additional cash and raffle tickets for second and third places. Two categories: trout and other legal species. Youth: first place $100 and four tip ups. Additional cash and tip ups for second and third place. The raffles are a propane auger and pop up shelter. Registration is required for raffles. A custom bob house, crafted by Freedom’s Jason Daggett, is being raffled.
