Talk about going out like a lamb (and lambs are being born left and right at Farm By The River) but the rapid melt from the sudden warmth has many of us pumping our basements. When will they redefine the "100-year flood" we seem to have almost every year?

Effingham Roadside Cleanup is Saturday, April 27, sponsored by the Effingham Conservation Commission. Meet at the town offices at 68 School St. between 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. for road assignments, gloves and bags and let the bag count begin. Return to the office for noon barbecue and visit with your neighbors.
