TAMWORTH — Tamworth will be a busy place on Saturday, Aug. 4, beginning at 9 a.m. with the Inaugural “Move It!” 0.5K Race, presented by the Tamworth Community Nurse Association. The race is open to all, no pre-registration is necessary, and it will begin on Main St. in front of The Other Store and Greg’s Way at 9 a.m.

The course is a straight shot down through the middle of town, starting at Greg’s Way and ending at the Tamworth Community Church, across from the Town House. Participants will be placed in one of several divisions, depending on: age (children will be age 11 and under); whether the racer is joined by their pet (there’s no specific description of a pet, but whatever he or she may be, they must be leashed, harnessed, tethered or otherwise under control of a human); whether the walker uses assistive devices of any sort, meaning, for example, a cane, crutches, or a walker (and not meaning a skateboard, scooter or any other device which only assists the user to travel at breakneck speed through the course); or maybe just plain old adults looking for a stroll down Main Street arm-in-arm with their sweetie. Whomever would like to join the fun is encouraged to decorate or accessorize themselves for the event in whatever way suits their fancy.
