CONWAY — Michael Donnino began exploring mentalism — a form of magic based in illusions of the mind — when his wife, Katie, suggested he pick up a hobby to balance out working as an emergency and critical care physician at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.

“I think that she was thinking that I was going to look for a pickup basketball game,” said Michael during an interview with Sun TV. “Instead, I noticed at the end of a work conference, there was a mentalist convention. I’d seen mentalists on TV before, and had always been intrigued by this. I ended up going to the conference and loved it.”
