Obituary: Marjorie 'Margie' Ellen Carter

Marjorie Ellen Carter, known to all who loved her as Margie, passed away on Oct. 8, 2026.

Born on July 16, 1946, in Limerick, Maine, Margie was a daughter of Lewis and Florence (Lane) Martell. She grew up surrounded by family and carried those early memories with her always, often reminiscing with her siblings about their younger days. A lifelong learner, Margie earned her accounting degree from Franklin Pierce College, and she never stopped feeding her curiosity. She loved to read, to explore new ideas, and to discover new places, often behind the wheel of her beloved red Mustang.
