D. David Douglass, 84, passed away March 12, 2020, at his beloved South Conway, N.H., home. He was born May 5, 1935, to Lois Tucker and Donald D. Douglass and spent his childhood in Weston, Mass.

He graduated from Holderness School and Middlebury College where he was a top skier, competing in jumping, Nordic and alpine. Skiing led him to North Conway, where he was part of the new Wildcat Ski Area. That in turn brought the friendship of Thaddeus Thorne into his life. They worked together at Attitash, and eventually Dave took over Thaddeus Thorne Surveys. Dave and Thaddeus shared many years of adventures.
