Audrey Shean

Audrey Shean passed away peacefully on Dec. 7, 2017, with family nearby. Up to her last weeks, Audrey was a charismatic fixture of the Highlands of Topsham, Maine, where residents and staff knew her well. Even after 97 years, she refused to give in to her age and achieved her long-stated goal of living longer than her siblings.

Audrey was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Saugus, Mass., to Herbert and Gertrude Amidon. She grew up in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School with the class of 1937. She married S. Wayne Shean on Jan. 18, 1942, and settled in Lynn, Mass., where she soon became an active member of her community and the Boston Street Methodist Church.
