WOLFEBORO — Audrey Wehmeyer, a certified physician assistant has joined Huggins Hospital’s Ossipee Family Medicine and Tamworth Family Medicine offices.
Wehmeyer splits her time between the two offices in order to increase the availability of primary care services in Ossipee and Tamworth.
Wehmeyer has spent most of her career as a physician assistant in Nevada and Oregon but recently decided to move New Hampshire to be close to her husband’s family.
She grew up on the West Coast and earned her bachelor of science in biology from Humboldt State University in Arcata, Calif. She went on to earn her master of physician assistant studies from Idaho State University in Meridian, Idaho.
Wehmeyer has special interest in women’s health and pediatrics, including newborn care. She will spend 20 hours a week at each clinic, Ossipee Family Medicine and Tamworth Family Medicine.
Wehmeyer is passionate about traveling the world. She spent a year with the Peace Corps in Africa and has backpacked in places like Mongolia and the country of Georgia. She also completed a solo hike of the Pacific Crest Trail in 2016.
She loves to cross-country ski and spend time outdoors. She and her husband hope to build a self-sustainable farm on their property in Madison.
