We have all experienced injuries or illnesses which caused pain that became bothersome. Most times pain will run its normal course, be treated conservatively and will subside over time. Sometimes pain will linger and become chronic making performing daily tasks painful and difficult.

When pain last longer than the normal expected course for the injury or persists for greater than three months then it is determined to be chronic. Many times, pain can be managed conservatively with medications, exercise, ice, heat, physical therapy, stretch therapy, massage, chiropractic, acupuncture or holistic therapy with diet and herbs.
