It may seem pretty obvious but your body does much better if your legs are the same length. This ensures that the force of gravity on our body’s structures is balanced going into the right and left sides of our bodies equally. Shockingly, it turns out that most of us don’t have that, in fact roughly 90 percent of the population has some degree of discrepancy. However, most of that 90 percent only has a discrepancy of only around 1 millimeter in difference.

Research points out that leg length inequalities (a short leg) under 4-5 mm are dealt with pretty well by the body. However, leg length inequalities greater than 5 mm can create enough stress and asymmetry to cause lower back, hip, knee and foot pain. And as you may imagine the higher the discrepancy the more likely it is to have problems.
