Harry E. Mohla, 86, of Wakefield, Mass., died Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, Mass. Born in Wakefield, on Oct. 28, 1919, he was the son of the late John and Iva (Connell) Mohla.Mr. Mohla was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1937. He was a former mechanic for the towns of Wakefield and Reading and retired in 1980 from the Town of Reading. Mr. Mohla was also a former mechanic at Hokey's Garage. He was a member of the Crystal Community Club of Wakefield, American Legion of Reading, and was a life member of the Reading Rifle and Revolver. Mr. Mohla was a World War II Army veteran (American Division E Company, Second Platoon), and was a recipient of the Bronze and Silver Star.He was the husband of the late Dorothy H. (Green) Mohla. Mr. Mohla is survived by his three sons, Harry E. Mohla Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Groton, Mass., Richard A. Mohla and his wife, Mary Ellen of North Conway, and Thomas E. Mohla and his wife Mary Jane of Wakefield, Mass.; his daughter, Lorinda J. Mohla of Nashua; his two sisters, Helen Bonin of Gilford and Barbara Kellar of Alton; and his brother, David Mohla of Eagle Creek, Ore. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Mohla was predeceased by his daughter, Judith Ann Cronan, his sister, Ruth Kirk and his brother, John Mohla.A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield, Mass., on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 3 to 7 p.m. Interment will be at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the DAV National Service Foundation, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH, 45250-0301.
