White Birch Books in North Conway hosts author, family therapist and mother Wendy Sand Eckel, author of "Educating Tigers" on Wednesday, June 9 at 4 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. "Educating Tigers" is a work of fiction that examines dyslexia and its affect on life in a family. "Educating Tigers" is the perfect read for the teacher who wants to know more about dyslexia and the resources needed to work with a disability affecting 20 percent of the population who learn differently. It also is an appropriate read for parents and other family members who wish to learn more about dyslexia. For the past 20 years, Eckel has been working with people to help promote change through psychotherapy and public education. Through her own, personal experience with her daughters dyslexia, Eckel has worked for more effective resources for and awareness of this prevalent problem. "Educating Tigers" is the culmination of her experiences.
