The board of directors for the Conway Area Humane Society has announced that local attorney Bill Albrecht has joined the board.Albrecht has been a practicing attorney since 1982, and was both an investigator and prosecutor with the Conway Police Department until 1988. He was a prosecuting attorney for the Chesire County Attorneys office between 1988 and January of 2007, when he made the decision not to run for re-election as county attorney. He and his wife Debbie of 20 years moved back to Conway, where Albrecht joined Matthew Weegar to form Albrecht and Weegar, PLLC.Albrecht has always played an active role in community life. He was a member and past president of the Keene Lions Club, and served on the board of directors for the Keene Teen Center, and RISE, a non-profit agency dedicated to providing rehabilitative services for children aged infant to three with speech and auditory issues. He also served on the board of Prospect Place, a retirement facility.Albrecht and his wife have served as volunteers with Fast Friends, a greyhound adoption agency. The two live in North Conway with the owner of their home, Joey, a 7-year-old greyhound.Albrecht will serve as the chair of the fund-raising committee for the Conway Area Humane Society. Board President Anita Burroughs states that we look forward to having someone with Bills passion and energy be a part of the Conway Area Humane Society and anticipate that he will make a substantial contribution to the organization.
