I read a piece on the automotive website “The Drive” recently regarding a recall on EV maker Lucid’s Air model for its unsecured factory all-weather floor mats jamming down the go-pedal causing unintended acceleration.

Unintended acceleration is a term I hadn’t heard until 1986. I had just left college full-time after floundering through a couple years of academic studies that I had no business pursuing, but it was the path I was expected to follow along with most of my friends at the time.
