Bridgton Highlands hosted The Laver Cup on Saturday, Sept. 12. The tournament is inspired by the men’s professional tournament held every September, with players competing for Team Europe and Team World, respectively. While the pro tournament is played over three days, Bridgton Highlands’ version is held over three rounds with five matches in each round.
The play between Team Europe and Team World was very competitive, but Team World was able to win all of the close matches and carried that momentum to help them prevail with the victory and dethrone Team Europe from defending their title last year.
