Car auctions are all the rage lately. Once the bastion of the car dealer, auctions have become mainstream, thanks in no small part to the internet. Of course, eBay was the first to bring the practice to the masses, auctioning anything from widgets to real estate.

Smaller online venues crept into the picture, focusing on specific goods and services, while brick-and-mortar auction houses rode the wave of popularity.
