Wheels: New generation picks up love of vehicles

As most of you know by now, I’m a car guy — pretty much the first in my family to like cars for more than just their practical purposes. I’ve had a fascination since childhood with things that go, motorized or not. Boats, planes, trains, and automobiles fall within that realm, and my tastes run toward the different and unusual.

A lot of people assume that the apple doesn’t fall far from the family tree and kids tend to follow in their parents’ footsteps. Famous entertainers, actors and musicians have offspring that take up the mantle of talent passed down through DNA perhaps. Many professions carry their practitioners from one generation to the next, such as lawyers, carpenters, entrepreneurs and tradesmen.
