CONWAY — Railfans enjoyed a trip back in time Sunday on a special Conway Scenic Railroad excursion from North Conway to Fabyan Station and back.

Dubbed the “Frankenstein Trestle Completion Special,” it stopped at the Frankenstein Trestle (north of Arethusa Falls and across Route 302 from the Dry River Campground) to view the engineering marvel 150 years to the day after the first Maine Central train was at the same spot in 1875 on the Mountain Division Line in Crawford Notch.
