CONWAY — Meredith Village Savings Bank has donated $2,000 to support the Mount Washington Observatory, a non-profit dedicated to advancing understanding of the natural systems which create Earth’s weather and climate.
Located atop the highest peak in the Northeast, the observatory is famous for recording a 231-mile-per-hour wind gust in 1934, which was a world record that stood for more than six decades. Mount Washington is often affectionately referred to as “Home of the World’s Worst Weather” due to extreme wind, rapid temperature drops and whiteout conditions.
