ALBANY — On Oct. 10, after over four years of planning, A.J. Coleman’s bulldozers arrived and began cutting the road into 2443 Route 16 in Albany that will lead to sites for five desperately needed affordable homes.

Founded in 1994, the organization has built 30 homes. Local board member Sam Johnson first identified the parcel of land in Albany as a possible building site in 2012. The board decided to pursue purchasing the land, and in May of 2022, MWV Habitat attended the auction at the property and was the successful bidder.
