The New American Home 2012 may be being built for the future, but it's also a bit of a throwback.

The 2012 home, which is currently under construction and will be displays at the 2012 National Association of Home Builders International Builders' Show in Orlando in February, is a reinterpretation of the classic white box-style design of the '60s and '70s. The home, which in recent years has been a showcase in home technologies, green building and energy efficiency, will be the greenest and smartest home to date — and smaller than years past.
