RAYMOND — The East Raymond Chapel UCC, located at 394 Webbs Mills Road in Raymond, is a small church that opens its doors exclusively in the summer for Sunday services, providing a place of worship and community for local residents and visitors alike.

The little Chapel has an interesting history. In 1887, the Ladies Benevolent Society, composed of nine ladies and five gentlemen of the town, voted to use the funds of the Society to build a church in East Raymond. The building, a mix of Gothic Revival and Queen Anne styles popular at the time, was completed in 1890 and has remained largely unchanged. The congregation, though, has gone through several cycles of growth and contraction over the years.
