All are invited to attend a supper and talk titled "Christianity: Boring, Untrue and Irrelevant?" at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept., 25 at the First Congregational Church in Center Ossipee. This is an opportunity to come and see what the Alpha course is about. There is no obligation by attending the dinner. Donations will be accepted.Alpha has been sweeping local Christian churches all denominations all over the country and the world with more than 2 million people attending courses in 2001. The 10-week Alpha course is a simple, back to basics, people-oriented opportunity for seekers to develop an understanding of the Christian faith. The weekly format includes a meal, a talk and group discussion on topics such as Who is Jesus?, Why and How Do I Pray? and What About the Holy Spirit? It is designed to help people talk through their thoughts, ideas and questions about Christianity. Alpha course is an ideal place for someone who is investigating the Christian faith and also a great course for Christians who want to grow in their faith. The team and participants in Alpha course at First Congregational has included members of local Catholic, Baptist, Methodist and Episcopal churches, Ossipee Valley Bible Church, Bay Church and others. It is truly an ecumenical effort to reach out with the exciting message of the Gospel and help people find out for themselves the full truth and life-changing experience of meeting Jesus and the Holy Spirit in person.
