CONWAY — Mother Nature must know that there is a veteran group of players on this year’s Kennett High girls’ basketball team. The weather has forced the cancellation of three straight days of practice for Coach Larry Meader and his troops.

“I think we’ve missed more days of practice than we’ve actually practiced so far,” Meader said, laughing on Monday afternoon. “We lost Sunday due to the roads. Can’t practice today because all events after 5 p.m. have been canceled. And, with a foot of snow in the forecast, it looks like we won’t have our scrimmage with White Mountains on Tuesday. That’ll be three days in a row with no gym time. It’s a really good thing that we have a veteran team.
