Fryeburg boys tip off 2017-18 hoop season this Friday

FRYEBURG — After a solid season last year that ended with a tough double overtime loss to Kennebunk in a preliminary playoff game, the Fryeburg Academy boys’ basketball team is hoping to take the next step and earn a berth to the quarterfinals at the Expo in Portland this winter.

“We have a lot of experience returning and some promising newcomers, so the potential is there deep run,” Sedge Saunders, Raiders’ head coach, known his 20th year, said. “The key will be for us to focus on getting better every day and really paying attention to the details. In order to separate ourselves from the middle of the pack, we have to have great effort, great execution, and full understanding of our roles.”
