CONWAY — The Kennett High boys’ basketball team jumped out to a 26-5 first-quarter lead and never looked back as the Eagles defeated rival Berlin 61-24 in the Peter Ames Gymnasium on Wednesday night in their home opener.

“We did some things well, but there are still things we need to work on,” said Jack Loynd, Eagles’ head coach following the win.
