Innocent until proven guilty. Those four words are what we in the United States pride ourselves on when it comes to justice and legality. Due process and reasonable doubt are here for a reason, so we don’t convict the wrong people. However, the art of this seems to have been lost in the digital age as people are quick to react and rush to judgment anytime an accusation is made.

David - how about the more obvious lesson, indeed the overarching lesson. The Duke lacrosse players reflected poor judgement in the extreme (perhaps a lapse of judgement aided by a coddled adolescence) in putting themselves in a position fraught with peril in the first place.
