Sufferfest

It's time to hike, bike, run and paddle, and work up a thirst doing so. I'm often tempted to reach for a cold beer after a run — okay, I'm often tempted to reach for a cold beer in general — but I've been troubled by the notion that getting sloshed somehow prevents one from getting swole.

Thatt's not totally true. Thankfully, a recent study* suggests that rather than dehydrating athletes, an electrolyte-enhanced beer can actually provide superior hydration. This week, in celebration of the summer, I'm tasting beers that are enhanced with electrolytes, or other ingredients that are designed to refresh, re-hydrate and restore. Cheers to your health!
