In the last few weeks, I’ve had three pings on my radar about where to ride next. My friend Rob Cole told me about his recent gravel ride up Sawyer River Road. Then, I came across a post on N.H. Gravel’s Facebook page from Jeff Litchfield, titled “Exploring off Bear Notch Road-Jeff L’s 27.6 mile bike ride,” featuring Sawyer River Road and Trail.

The third ping was this year’s Fat Tire Festival photo of riders resting and refueling at Sawyer Pond shelter. A GPS post showed the “Bartlett Adventure Ride” with its 25.69 miles and 2.360 feet elevation gain. No wonder everyone looked tired.
